The results are in! Each year, The Great Pitch Poll surveys business development and marketing professionals across the UK’s creative, media, and digital agencies to uncover the realities of pitching—and this year’s findings are eye-opening!
The stress and pressures of pitching remain high, putting agencies at risk of losing their best talent. Some of the key findings include:
42% of respondents said the stress of working in new business or on pitches has made them think about changing jobs.
33% have considered leaving the industry entirely due to pitch-related stress.
42% would look for a new job if their employer insisted on more in-office work.
25% more agencies now offer dedicated time off for staff involved in pitches compared to last year.
84% of respondents agreed that charging client pitch fees would improve pitching culture in the UK.
13% of agencies admitted to giving away Intellectual Property (IP) in return for pitch fees under £25K.
These are a wake-up call for anyone concerned about the future of our industry. It's time for agencies, clients and industry leaders to come together and address these challenges head on.
To that end, we are already talking to the UK's trade association, the IPA, about how The Great Pitch Company can help push this agenda forward. More details on that to come.
If you'd like to explore the full report or discuss how your agency can improve its pitching practices don't hesitate to get in touch, just email us at felix@thegreatpitchcompany.com.
