International Women’s Day is a day to recognize and celebrate the achievements and contributions of women around the world across society and industries. And whilst progress has been made in the advertising industry, there is still much to be done (including at The Great Pitch Company). According to the IPA (Institute of Practitioners in Advertising) Agency Census, in 2022 there were 14,411 women employed in advertising in the UK, accounting for 54.8% of the total employed base. At the same time women occupied just 37.5% share of C-suite roles. This is up from 33.5% recorded in 2021 (an increase of 12%). Together as an industry, by continuing to raise awareness and advocate for change, we can create a more equitable and inclusive industry that benefits everyone.
